ANIMA EX MACHINA
In Anima ex Machina, METAMERLAN blurs the line between the human and the algorithm — where the “soul” stops being a mystery and begins to resemble an emergent pattern.
His robots live ordinary lives: shopping, taking selfies, dreaming — rendered in a vivid post-digital aesthetic. They get tired, feel bored, glitch, hesitate — and suddenly become eerily recognizable.
If our choices are shaped by experience, environment, and repeating codes, what truly makes us “human”? The exhibition invites us to see consciousness as something that may arise wherever complexity and memory accumulate — whether in the human brain or in a computational system.
